How currency conversion works
Rates are quoted against a base currency. To convert from one currency to another, the amount is divided by the source rate and multiplied by the target rate. Exchange rates move constantly, so treat the result as a guide.
FAQ
Are the exchange rates live?
The page starts with a bundled ECB reference-rate snapshot and shows its exact observation date. It contacts open.er-api.com only after you click “Refresh with latest rates”.
Where does the history chart come from?
Daily European Central Bank reference rates, bundled into the site at build time. The chart and its as-of label use the final observation date in the local data file, not the build date.
What happens if the bundled rates are old?
The page shows a yellow age notice after 3 days and a red warning after 14 days. You can request a newer indicative rate, then confirm the transaction rate and fees with your provider.
Should I use this for trading?
No. Rates are indicative and may be delayed. For transactions, check your bank or a regulated provider for the exact rate and fees.
Which currencies are supported?
Over 30 of the most-traded world currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CNY, INR and more.
Can I save the pairs I use most?
Yes — click “Save pair” to pin a currency pair as a favorite chip (stored privately on your device). Popular pairs are shown by default for one-tap switching.
