FAQ
How is gratuity calculated in India?
Under the Code on Social Security, 2020 framework effective 21 November 2025, the estimate is (15 ÷ 26) × last monthly basic salary plus eligible DA × credited years, capped at ₹20,00,000. Standard eligibility requires five years, except in cases such as death or disablement.
How are service years rounded in India?
Check the five-year eligibility threshold against actual service first. Once eligible, a part-year exceeding six months counts as one additional year: 5 years 7 months counts as 6 years, while 5 years 6 months counts as 5.
What about Gulf countries?
