How dimensional weight works
Light bulky boxes are often charged by volume. This calculator keeps the raw DIM result separate from the rounded billable weight and applies rounding parcel by parcel.
FAQ
What is dimensional weight?
Carriers bill whichever is greater: actual weight or volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ divisor).
Which carrier divisor?
The built-in rules distinguish FedEx 5000, UPS Daily 139, UPS Retail 166 and DHL Express 5000. The source and checked date are shown; your contract always wins.
How is rounding applied?
Each parcel is calculated separately: dimensions round up first, then actual and dimensional weights round up to the selected billing increment.
Multiple boxes?
Enter each box on a line: length,width,height,weight — each parcel is rounded before the billable weights are added.
Can I use a custom rule?
Yes. Choose Custom and enter the divisor, dimension increment and weight increment from your rate card.
